This particular hotel is easy to reach on foot - 5 minutes from the bus and about 10 minutes from the railway station. ||Reception and check-in off to a great start. The hotel has a lovely, historic character about it. Plenty of photos etc on the walls etc. My room (single use of a double) was a generous size. Well furnished, very clean and had a bathroom of very good condition. ||I ate on the patio that evening g, good and their own brewed beer were superb so once booked in for a night, there really is no need to go elsewhere. The all nonsmoking dining room was busy, so I would suggest prebook a table to be on the safe side. ||Breakfast from 0730 in the morning was particularly good. ||Overall I would give this a definite 5 as I really could not find fault with anything at all. ||

This little town is a quiet hamlet and nothing more. The castle and quaint town are a beautiful and delightful stroll, but you will not find a full day of vacation here. The Hotel Cisar Ferdinand is the highlight of the town. The rooms are acceptable but not luxurious. The beds are only okay. The restaurant and bar are, on the other hand, quite good and extremely affordable. The beer made on site is as good as any other brewery. The menu is traditional Czech, but broad enough for most tastes and well done. If you don't try the 'smoked beer', you have not fully appreciated this little town. After you have enjoyed a full evening at Cisar Ferdinand, wander down the cobblestone street to a local bar in which only Czech is spoken for a more authentic experience. The people here are warm and friendly, and the spirits are delightful!

Cisar Ferdinand is located in one of the most beautiful and carefully restored buildings just over the bridge of the medieval town. You just can't pass it... Especially because there is a well known restaurant with a garden (great view to the river) in front of it. And even more tempting is the pub and home micro brewery in the vaulted cellars. It is like a living museum with old beer mugs, barrels, and big collection of spa drinking cups. Black beer is really good! The hotel is named after Austrian emperor Ferdinand I., who visited the town. And he is also the main theme in the hotel – rooms are decorated with old pictures and there are even old crests all over the furniture... Rooms are big and bright. Mine (nr. 3) had a view to the main street with some other restored houses in sight. Although the hotel staff speaks more German than English, the communication was not a problem with some smiles and czech words... The choice of TV programs was bigger than in most other hotels I stayed in Czech republic. Breakfast was another surprise! It is served in a really nice decorated dinning room. The walls are full of old pictures and paintings and they even displayed tools with which emperor Ferdinand officially ended the building of the bridge ! Not to mention, the food was good, lot of selection...

Initially we were a little disappointed by this hotel; its reception area is poky and unimpressive but the staff were helpful despite having little English. The rooms were large and clean but quite characterless considering the lovely old building. Nevertheless the beds were comfortable and the basement restaurant very good. I could live with the mismatched towels as, like everything else, they were clean and as we were only there for two nights, it was fine.||The small village is very pretty and the castle is lovely. Our Czech friend was getting married in the castle which was a delightful occasion with Czech and English participants enjoying themselves immensely. There isn't much to do in Loket but it is in a beautiful setting with the river running close by and the tree clad mountains all around. Unfortunately it was cold and damp during our stay but I can imagine that it is beautiful in good weather.

Reception a little haphazard, but otherwise this very traditional hotel (no lift or a/c) makes for a pleasant night's stay in this charming town, located on a scenic bend in the River Eger/Ohre, with a castle right in its center and a lovely elongated market place. My large room (with bath and anteroom) faced the street, but remained quiet overnight; a standard breakfast is served in a charming room full of historical photos; easy street parking; restaurant and pub on the premises. In short, this town is worth a visit; and this is its best hotel ( although, being familiar with the real, "mentally challenged" Emperor Ferdinand, I still don't understand why you would name your hotel after him).

If I could give a 6 stars I would. Excellent service, food and overall experience is absolutely superb. What I would recommend the most is the Old Slavic feast, roast pork and music show that comes with it. Amazing staff keeping you always topped up by the local beer produced straight away at the front of your eyes. Its clear and obvious that the owners do make sure the service and the whole program works to your satisfaction. Well done! Regards P.Kvak

We stayed there 3 nights. Hotel is presented as the best in the town and actually it is, visitors were German pensioners most of all.||Positives:||Excellent location, situated close to the river and medieval old town with beautiful castle. Building is renovated and looks very nice. Rooms are spacious, bed big enough. There is restaurant and small private brewery.||Unpleasant: ||In our room cabinet had shelf broken, lying on the bottom; there were uncomfortable synthetic fiber pillows with lumps; spacious bathroom with only one small shelf. These deficiencies you do not expect in hotel with such a reputation. Nevertheless it happens and can be repair. ||Negative:||We stay in the hotel in hot July days. There is no air condition. Our windows were oriented at the river side, in first floor above the restaurant. Not only smell of dishes served, but also cigarettes smoke come directly to our room. Cleaning of our room was the bed was made only. Noise from the restaurant or hot room was up to our decision. We did not evaluate the restaurant, probably very popular and full. Our first choice was big mistake and we did not repeat it.
