The place itself is lovely - stunning park, beautiful chateau (at least on the outside, we didn’t do the interior tour).|Beds are really comfortable.||The outdoor pool - biotop - is visually lovely but without amenities that one would expect from a 4 star place trying to appeal to young families. |There are two festival type toilets (a bit smelly) and no changing cabins. Nobody is overseeing/managing this area. |Come to think of it, I have not seen any safety equipment/inflatable to throw in if anyone was in trouble. |There is a shower there but no soap. |Nowhere to get water or any other type of drink (if your kids are thirsty, good luck). |The wooden railing going into the water is unsafe and the stones going in are very slippery. |And, you get charged for using the pool! ||Whoever runs this place doesn’t really know what good hospitality is. It is really surprising and actually downright shocking that a place like this cannot be run better. ||The staff seem to try their best but bless them, they don’t have an easy job. ||Charging for the pools is a very odd and given the overall cost of the hotel, an unpleasant concept. |In our two days here I have witnessed several arguments where in particular foreigners and families were shocked by the bill, especially the amount they were charged for the time spent by the swimming pool. ||The food is absolutely atrocious yet expensive. |Breakfast is adequate but when you want to have a dinner, you are stuck between an expensive yet very mediocre buffet - (you get used to places in Czech not catering for vegetarians and dietary restrictions but a four star hotel?) |The expensive buffet dinner was awful.|Cheap stodgy food barely worthy of a provincial pub. |The other option was a large empty restaurant with a “bar menu” consisting of handful of options. We had pizza and steak tartare and both were seriously substandard. ||Overall, the location is beautiful. But that is that. |Whoever runs this place needs to have a proper re-think if they want for the business to survive. There aren’t going to be many of us recommending this place. |As it is, it isn’t worth the journey.

Beautiful castle and surrounding gardens, well worth the visit. Unfortunately, it is populated by the most incredibly rude and unhelpful staff I have ever encountered on my many years of travel around the world. ||Not a single smile was seen during my entire stay. Every question, purchase or conversation was meet by a blank stare and hostility. Both I and the rest of the 40 people wedding party was absolutely dumbfounded by how other human beings could be so consistently grumpy and unhelpful. Even when you purchased a drink from the bar, the staff reacted like you'd just given them aggressive cancer of the face.||I recommend popping by this lovely place. I also recommend avoiding the staff like the plague.

The staff for the first few days were absolutely amazing. The children's room had a few hazards, which inevitably led to a girl splitting her head open on a table that didn't have the plastic covering on a metal end, some tables had the plastic while others didn't. The toy box had nails sticking out. When the girl split her head, they removed the hazards upon my wife's request. I was in the room playing with the kids when this happened.
The staff, who hadn't been there yet this week, were unprofessional. Saying things like "if you have a personal problem you should go home" or "If they would've watched their kids this wouldn't have happened"
A simple apology would've sufficed, but they tried to save face instead. They have since decided to close the children's area instead of making it safer.
Before this with the staff previously, it was the best hotel service I'd experienced. The cleaning ladies, the kitchen ladies and people at the front were absolute angels to my children, prior to this. It seems to me it was upper management who were the rude ones.
Regardless, due to regulations in Czech Republic, anything labeled as a children's area should be free of hazards and should be frequently inspected by staff.
I had planned to come back next year and rent out a better room, but unless there is some type of apology, I will not be returning. This would've been a five start review before this experience. I hope they find some way to rectify this experience, I'd love to give them the opportunity to apologize and compensate for their rudeness. If they do act professional, I definately would change my review. As of now, I won't be returning annually as I had planned.

We stayed for two nights, a romantic weekend away.||The room was exactly as advertised. A large room with four poster bed plus an even bigger bathroom !! Shower so big it had two shower heads and a standalone bath. Luxury !||||The castle stands in a park with a dozen labyrinths, well worth the walk to see/try them.||||The only downside of staying in the zamek is the number of steps you have to negotiate to get to the restaurants, swimming pool and massages, but a price worth paying for the castle experience.

It was such a great experience. We took "Christmas tree tour". It was entertaining, knowledgeable, great decorations in the rooms, the tour guide was to the point. Only one thing I would change is the number of guest in one tour, I would make a smaller group. The manor house is beautiful plus it has huge park with attractions for kids and adults. We will definitely come back.

We didn't stay in the hotel, but we visited the castle and the park labyrintharium. The castle tour was really interesting and fun, the guide was dressed as a butler, and beside the facts told stories and jokes - I rather liked him. Even though the castle interior isn't large, you can learn many interesting things on the guided tour. My favourite was probably the children book written by real princess displayed in the library.||In the park there are many kinds of labyrinths, and you can spend a nice afternoon to walk and discover them. It's good attraction for children and adults with the soul of a child 😉 The park is big and really nice, a bit on the wild side, but we liked that it looked like a real forest in some parts.||The castle restaurant was quite a surprise - we expected a luxurious restaurant, but it was more like a buffet with a choice of few foods. That being said, the food was good (If you like sweets, order "Čápy" with plum jam and poppy.)
